Snow Day!

I should be so happy that today is a snow day. Usually, the call at 5am makes me so excited!! Today I was bummed out when I got the call. It almost feels like a waste of a snow day. I mean, we're going to have 2 weeks off anyways. Why couldn't this have happened in the middle of January? I was also bummed because today is always such a fun day at school--parties, holiday sing-a-long, etc. Oh well....nothing I can do about it now! I am enjoying my little ones as much as possible and who knows...maybe I'll get some wrapping or something productive accomplished today?!

Quiet Time

Do you ever feel like the world is moving so incredibly fast that you can't possibly keep up with it? Well, that's how I've been feeling ever since I went back to work. Seriously...I wake up at 6am and don't stop moving until 10:30pm!! Life is so crazy...
That's why I'm so happy for this moment I am having right now. 2 kids in bed and 1 husband at a Christmas party. I'm sipping my glass of wine, contemplating a bowl of ice cream, and wasting away the night on the internet. I know I should go to bed, but I'm so happy to have this time to myself!!

no more leaves around here...

The leaves are done at our house!! Brent and Benjamin spent much time outside yesterday getting them done for the season! I think Benjamin had more fun than Daddy! Isn't he the cutest little lawn mower ever?

COUNTDOWN!

Okay...so the countdown has officially begun. I go back to work in 12 days. I'm excited and sad about that at the very same time. I feel like I am just getting to know Madelyn and she's just beginning to show some personality--this makes me sad. Also, the fact that my daycare lady will actually be spending more time with my kids than me during the week just rips at my heart!
However, I am excited to get back into some kind of a routine. It's amazing how little I actually get done when I have nothing to do! But when I'm so busy and running around like a chicken I seem to accomplish so much! Does this happen to anyone else? I really do miss my students...really. I miss my teacher friends. And believe it or not, I miss having a routine.
I think Brent is a bit nervous for me to go back to work. This means that he will have to help out with laundry....middle of the night wake up calls....organizing and cleaning house....getting 2 kids to daycare every morning!
I'll adjust...Brent will adjust...and so will the kids. Though I'm sure after 3 days of work I'll be ready for another maternity leave! As for now, I am going to enjoy every minute of my last 12 days...

way too long...

Okay...it's been way too long since I've added to this. My dad has been getting on my case for not updating this in the past 7 weeks! Sorry, but I'm going to try and start adding once a week from now on!

A LOT has happened since I posted last...we had a BABY GIRL!!! Madelyn Mae Warren was born on September 25. She weighed 8lb 8oz and was 21 inches long. She has brought so much joy to our lives already. She is SOOOO beautiful and has begun smiling! She's also a great sleeper already! She just started sleeping through the night almost every night. Mommy is happy about that one! It's amazing how much pink has entered our home!

Benjamin is now a big brother and isn't as thrilled as the rest of us! He gets very jealous. Also, we think he entered the terrible twos about 7 months early! Hitting, screaming, and meltdowns are daily rituals at our house. Although he has these struggles, he is also SOOO much fun! Talking all the time. Some of our very favorite words he says now are "faffle" (waffle), "pop pop" (Grandpa), "bup" (up). He has so many words and is really getting smart.

As for Brent and I...we're busier than ever. Well, actually we'll probably be busier than ever in about 2 weeks when I go back to work. I'm enjoying this maternity leave and trying to take advantage of all the time with the kids and getting things done around here. Brent is in full swing hunting mode! Opening day is next weekend and he's gearing up for it! Tell the deer to watch out because he's ready to get a couple!

Please leave your comments on our blog...we'd love to hear from you!

Grandma Snyder

This post is dedicated to my Grandma- Virginia Mae Snyder (passed away September 15, 2008).

Grandma lived for 87 wonderful years. She was born in Hadley, Michigan on April 20, 1921. She was a wonderful Christian woman, who loved her church family and was active in many activities. She loved her family more than anything and was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Grandma never missed an event--graduations, weddings, birthday parties, etc. She made it everywhere! In her last years, she mostly enjoyed sitting in the background just watching and listening to all the fun and laughter! I was always impressed by what she could do at her age. She learned to e-mail in her 80s! Those were some of my favorite messages when almost the entire e-mail message was in the subject line! Grandma gave strength to those around her even though she never felt she was strong herself.

Grandma- I am so excited for you to be with the Lord! I know that you are up in Heaven smooching on Grandpa! I cannot wait for the day when we can be reunited again. Until then, I want to follow in your footsteps...I promise to be the best mother to your great-grandchildren and the best daughter to your daughter. I also promise to live my life like you did yours....Following and loving God with all my heart and soul and devoting my life to my family.

Little Squeaker

Tonight Jim and Carol came over to babysit, so Brent and I could go out. They brought him a gift--yes he is SOOO spoiled! Anyways, it was a new pair of shoes. We put them on his feet and noticed a strange sound. These shoes have little squeakers inside them that make them squeak every time he takes a step! It was absolutely hilarious to watch him stomp, stomp his feet on the ground to hear the sound!! Annoying??? Not too bad...we'll see if I'm saying that in a few weeks

What up-day 1...

Okay. I may be totally out of my league here by starting this blogging thing, but I thought I'd give it a try. I enjoy reading other's blogs, but maybe people won't enjoy reading mine?! I apologize ahead of time if you find this boring.... I just plan on posting family pics and sharing some stories stories!! Please give me your feedback and post comments!
