I swear that my kids have cellular have the time they talk to eachother. These are 2 hilarious conversations we had in the car this afternoon!
After picking up a $5 hot and ready pizza with breadsticks (I know...heart attack, but the fridge is empty folks).
Madelyn: "Mommy, can I have a chapstick?"
Me: "A what? You want chapstick?"
Madelyn: "Can I have a chapstick in the car?"
Me: "Oh, Madelyn! Those aren't chapsticks, they're breadsticks!"
Benjamin: "Mommy, are chapsticks from China?"
Me: "No, you can get chapsticks anywhere, honey."
Benjamin: "I still don't really know how to eat with chapsticks."
HA! Then about a minute and a half later....
Benjamin: "Some houses have garages in them and some houses have garages nextdoor."
Me: "Yes, that's right honey. We have a garage in our house and we can drive right in it."
Madelyn: "I don't want to drive in it! I don't want to drive in it!" (crying)
Me: "You don't want to drive in what?"
Madelyn: "I don't want to drive in the carwash, Mommy!!" (Madelyn is TERRIFIED of the carwash! Talks and thinks about it all the time!)
I just have to record some of these conversations otherwise I will forget and too often I do forget the good ones!

God's Blessings
Spring has SPRUNG!! We've had a wonderful spring so far....trip to Floriday (including a day at Magic Kingdom), an amazing Easter with family, Mothers and Grandmothers to be thankful for on Mother's Day, Benjamin's first try at soccer lessons, plenty of playtime outside and even a walk to the beach already. Excited for summer, excited for school to be done, so I can enjoy being just a mom! Here's a snippit of the great times we've had this spring!

I think I'm in love....
with my new Honda Odyssey mini-van!!!!!! I have never been as happy as I am about a vehicle! Okay...maybe I was more excited when I got my brand new Ford Escort at age 18...the blue devil. But this is right up there with it.
The convenience of having a mini-van is unbelievable. I love everything about it....heated seats, automatic sliding doors and hatch, 6 CD changer, DVD player, navigation system, stow and go seating. Here's the best part and I think God did this especially for me because Brent may have killed me if I backed into anything else. I have a rear view camera, so I can see what I'm backing up against or into!
Watch out because Megan is H-O-T-T hot in her new wheels!!!!!

Madelyn Mae has a way

Oh, how I adore this little girl. Now that she's almost 2 1/2 I really can't say baby anymore (sniff)... Here are some of my most favorite things about her.
- She is the MOST polite child you have ever met. She says "God Bess you", "scuse me", "scuse you (mommy, daddy, Benjamin)", "thank you", "you're welcome" constantly! I think she says "I sorry" at least 20 times a day! She apologizes when someone hurts her. She apologizes for everything! People comment all the time on how polite Madelyn is!
- She LOVES to snuggle and cuddle and curl up and read. She loves to be held and always has. I pray she will always like to snuggle up with me!
- She can really shake her groove thing and enjoys dancing and music. She copies all my favorite dance moves, so you know she's really good!
- She's a girlie girl. She carries around 2 baskets and 2 purses through the house. One basket is filled with little babies and the other is filled with jewelry. Her purses have little goodies such as her chapstick and keys. She loves her barbies, tutus, and dress up high heels.
- She is really great at cleaning up! She likes her room organized (wonder where she gets this) and always picks up everything at the end of the day.
- She snacks her way through the day.
God has blessed us with this wonderful little spirit. You have brought so much to our lives, Madelyn! We love you so. Now STOP growing up!
I haven't forgotten about the other.....Benjamin post coming soon

You know you're old when....
You meet your friend at the grocery store and grocery shop together for a girls night out! Sounds dorky, but it was really nice! We shared tips, meal ideas, and bagged eachother's groceries! Thanks Becky for a fun night!

Is it a choo choo or a tutu?
It was about 6:50am and Benjamin was playing with a Thomas train in our bedroom as Brent and I were getting dressed. He was yelling, "Chugga Chugga Choo Choo....Choo, Choo...Choo, Choo!"
Madelyn must have heard this from her crib and began yelling and crying, "I want choo, choo! I want choo, choo!" I go into her room and she is pointing at her hooks in her room with the tutus hanging on them. "I want choo choo (tutu)!" Apparently, she must have thought Benjamin was playing with her tutus vs. his choo choo train!
So...I proceed to give her a tutu and put it on her. Benjamin then says, "Madelyn you are so beautiful. You are as beautiful as a principal! Madelyn the principal!"
What a crack up! Had to share this story with Mr. Cwayna :)

Poor Pootie!
Madelyn has had a tough week. Strep throat over the weekend and then last night she fell in the bathtub and basically shattered her other front tooth. Mind you, the first front tooth is already chipped from a fall in the bathtub. It was a bloody scene! The tooth is broken in pieces and part is also broken off. We had Scott (our dentist friend) come over to take a look at it. He said there's nothing you can do, but to wait for it to fall out. I'm glad she decided to do this right before Halloween because her smile will soon be similar to a jack-o-lantern. I would post a pic, but it's so awful I'll spare everyone the sight!

bedtime prayers
Benny and I were laying in bed saying his prayers.....
Us: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die...."
Benny: "Mommy! Why do you say that?"
Me: "Say what?"
Benny: "Why do you say 'if I should die'?"
Me: "That just means that if something happened to us and we died, God would take care of us up in Heaven."
Benny: "But then will he bring us back home?"

School days...
Everyone says how it's so sad when your kids are off to school, so I expected (knowing myself) I would be teary eyed at the drop off. I was quite the opposite, actually. Maybe it's because his preschool classroom is literally right around the corner from my classroom! It was so exciting to send Benjamin off to school. He was such a good boy and so proud! It is going to be awesome having my kids at Ross Park with me during their elementary years. I am blessed...

Summer is done, but here are my pics!!!

So I am finally realizing that summer is over....I am back into school full swing and even Benjamin started school today (post to come soon!) Time to show you some of our favorite summer memories. We spent a TON of time camping, swimming, campfires, beaches, and more. Here are some of my faves!
Here are the kids with Spencer and Cooper in the Freeman's pool. Isn't this the coolest picture ever with the rays of sunshine coming down?
